Eleanor M. Lackman and MSK team were highlighted in the article, “Shutterstock Beats Copyright Suit Over Aerial Image,” published by Law360 on September 20, 2022. The article features our win defending client Shutterstock Inc. in a copyright suit lodged by a photographer alleging infringement over a photo that was briefly on the site. S.D.N.Y. Judge Alvin Hellerstein granted our client summary judgment in an order on September 19, 2022, finding that Shutterstock is shielded through the DMCA’s safe harbor provision and the use of automatic watermarking does not violate Section 1202 of the Copyright Act.

The MSK team includes Eleanor M. Lackman, Rebecca Benyamin, Samantha Frankel, Marissa Lewis, and Elaine Nguyen.
