We are seeking multiple Labor and Employment associates at the mid to senior level for our Los Angeles office. Our Labor and Employment Department consists of over 20 full time Labor and Employment attorneys. Ideal candidates have experience in any of these areas: traditional labor, wage and hour class actions and PAGA lawsuits, and employment litigation.
The successful candidates must have excellent analytical and writing skills, substantial experience handling employment litigation, including single-plaintiff and class action cases, and experience advising clients on day-to-day employment issues. Outstanding academic credentials are required.
Salary range: $262,000-$350,000. Compensation is based on experience, skill, and knowledge.

Business & Pricing Analyst
Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, a mid-sized law firm with offices in Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington D.C., is seeking a Business & Pricing Analyst to join our team in Los Angeles.
Are you gifted at telling stories with numbers? Are you capable of helping non-numbers people understand financial statements? Can you interpret and powerfully convey messages with data? Are you meticulous in your presentation of numbers? If you can answer yes to these questions, we have an opportunity to join our team in this high-impact role. You will support the entire leadership suite of this bi-coastal full-service law firm.
The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Primary Job Functions:
- Prepare and publish our full financial package reporting package (P&L, BS, KPIs) each month, including PowerPoint presentation for the Governing Board.
- Responsible for the annual budgeting process, including collaborating with all department heads.
- Manipulate large datasets and convert them into summary data, charts, and graphs using SQL/VBA/Excel for various business scenarios, financials, and project modeling to guide business decisions.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis, preparation of statistical reports and special projects related to client statistics, firm financial metrics and profitability analysis.
- Assist in the development and preparation of cost/price proposals in response to RFPs.
- Interpret data generated for the creation of reports and present analysis and/or recommendations for business improvement.
- Assist attorneys with producing matter-level budgets and estimates. Assist with maintenance of budgets to actuals and tracking of those budgets. Maintain detailed files to support those pricing proposals and matter budgets.
- Assist with completion of industry surveys and departmental reports.
- Other special projects and analysis, as needed.
Specific Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
- Strong technical skills, including use of Aderant, Power BI, MS Excel and MS-SQL to gather data and organize and build reports to facilitate effective analysis.
- Ability to read and write SQL queries.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- Ability to work well with individuals across all levels of the firm.
- Ability to work independently and learn new tasks quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience.

Areas and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Diversity, Equity, and inclusion (DEI): Act as a trusted advisor to firm leadership to support the firm's DEI efforts including the following: Developing and implementing strategic initiatives to promote DEI across the firm; Providing subject matter expertise in internal and external DEI best practices; Designing, implementing, and partnering on DEI initiatives in support of the Firm’s strategic plan; Incorporating DEI considerations into all talent management practices. Act as advisor to the DEI Committee and other firm and practice leadership regarding DEI priorities and challenges, and follow-through on related action items.
Recruiting, Retention & Engagement: Assess current recruiting, retention and engagement efforts and develop initiatives focused around processes, policies, programming, and oversight that align with our goals.
Talent Growth & Development: The Director will be responsible for the recruitment and development of diverse and underrepresented talent working directly with our Hiring Chair, Practice Chairs, and Human Resources teams. You will partner with hiring managers and HR to identify and implement strategic opportunities and best practices to develop our diversity pipeline amongst associate and junior partner ranks. You will analyze our promotion pipeline to ensure our future success. You will collaborate with HR and practice management leaders to oversee the mentorship, development, and promotion of diverse and underrepresented attorneys, including providing feedback, training and coaching aligned with firm and practice-related goals and priorities. You will assume responsibility for DEI training programs, policies and reports.
Marketing & Promotion: You will help elevate the firm's brand as a leader in DEI through personal engagement with clients and the DEI legal community. You will develop and deliver presentations on our diversity strategy and design and deliver training on mitigating bias and other relevant topics. You will manage diversity sponsorship and membership relationships with external organizations. You will track diversity expenditures and prepare the annual budget.
Desired Skills & Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and team building skills are required. You must have the capacity and ability to market the firm’s strengths to internal and external constituents and stakeholders, while fostering enthusiasm and engagement for closing gaps considered to be weaknesses. You will be skilled at having candid conversations in a diplomatic and professional manner, focused on building support and understanding from internal stakeholders. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be adept at working with individuals at all levels to both listen empathetically and communicate authentically and with impact. You need an ability to deliver programs and clearly convey firm initiatives and policies by providing context and with an eye towards strategic objectives. You should have strong problem-solving and organizational skills, including setting priorities, planning and implementation, and structuring project deliverables. You should have excellent analytical skills, with a track record of using data and metrics to evaluate needs, drive change and measure impact.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Either a J.D (which is preferred) or a master's degree in business administration, leadership, organizational development, or human resources is required, although candidates with an equivalent combination of education, training, and other relevant experience will be considered. At least six years of relevant DEI or talent development experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional services firm. At least four years of supervisory experience.
Past performance includes: Creation and implementation of impactful DEI strategies and programs that drive change. Development of deep functional knowledge of DEI best practices. Track record of excellent communication and collaboration skills, having built strong relationships with people at all levels of seniority. Demonstration of active listening and capacity for connecting with various stakeholders with divergent viewpoints, culminating in consensus. Word Processor
Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp, a law firm in Century City, is looking for a Word Processor to come and support our team!
The ideal candidate is a team player who is dedicated and passionate about their work. The Word Processor will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and editing documents as needed for numerous departments of the Firm. We are seeking candidates with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role in the areas of litigation, corporate, banking and real estate. Experienced in digital dictation, transcription, pdf conversions, as well as how to generate Table of Contents, Table of Authorities, mail merges, redlining and track changes, and iManage is required. Minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute.
Responsibilities:
- Transcription of digital recordings and dictations, revisions and final preparation of letters, memos, patent and trademark documents, litigation documents, chemical drawings, tables, collateral marketing materials and forms
- Run redlines and track changes in documents
- Mark headings for table of contents
- Mark citations for table of authorities
- Bookmark pdf documents for filing
- Redact and extract material from pdf documents
- Convert pdf documents to Word documents
- Prepare responsive discovery documents after they have been converted to Word documents
- Large document production.
- Transcribe tapes, input and revise text
- Apply corporate styles, template-based formatting, and editing to ensure consistency and quality in all final products
Qualifications:
