MSK was featured in the Law360 article, "Judge Allows Bulk Of Grand Theft Auto IP Suit To Proceed," for its representation of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. in a high-profile copyright and trademark infringement lawsuit concerning Grand Theft Auto V.

On August 27, 2025, a Los Angeles federal judge allowed the bulk of Take-Two’s copyright and trademark infringement claims to proceed against PlayerAuctions, a website accused of selling cheat codes and modified accounts for Grand Theft Auto V.

From the article...

"Judge Wright disagreed with PlayerAuctions' argument that Take-Two's allegations of direct infringement were too vague, saying the video game maker had sufficiently claimed that all GTA V content on PlayerAuctions' website constituted unauthorized copying.

Take-Two also sufficiently alleged that PlayerAuctions engaged in distribution of so-called "modded" player accounts and that the website incentivizes, markets and assists in distributing infringing content, the order reads."

Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. is represented by Karin Pagnanelli, Marc Mayer, James Berkley, and Constance Kang.
