Christine Lepera and David Steinberg Mentioned in Media forĀ "Big Pimpin'" Appellate Arguments

December 8, 2017

Christine Lepera was quoted in the article, "9th Circ. Mulls 'Moral Right' In ‘Big Pimpin'’ Suit," published by Law360 on December 8, 2017. David Steinberg was mentioned in the article for his work as counsel for the defendants.

Ms. Lepera was also quoted in the article, "'Big Pimpin'' Appellate Arguments Focus on Labels," published by The Hollywood Reporter on December 8, 2017.

Both articles discuss the Jay-Z case that is currently on appeal. A Ninth Circuit panel on Friday pressed the Egyptian composer's nephew who claims the Jay-Z song "Big Pimpin'" illegally sampled a 1957 ballad by his late uncle to explain why foreign copyright ownership gives him the right to economic damages in the United States.
