19-Year Entertainment Veteran Mike Marino Joins Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp’s Labor and Employment Practice from Warner Bros. Discovery

October 24, 2024

Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP (MSK) continues to add to its roster of entertainment industry players with the addition of Mike Marino as a partner in the firm’s Labor & Employment practice in Los Angeles. Marino joins MSK from Warner Bros. Discovery, where he served most recently as Senior Vice President, Legal, Employment, overseeing all employment law-related matters for the company’s studio production business units.

“We have had the pleasure of working with Mike as a client and know he understands the unique labor and employment challenges within the entertainment industry at the highest level,” said Greg Hessinger, Chair of MSK. “In his nearly two decades of experience at Warner, he handled the complex, global employment law needs of one of the world’s largest entertainment companies, and we are thrilled he decided to join our firm, adding to our deep bench of some of the best entertainment attorneys in the country.”

During his tenure on the Warner Bros. studio lot, Marino played an integral role in managing employment law issues for the company’s diverse portfolio of business units across the globe. Before that, Marino was in private practice as a labor and employment lawyer. He had already distinguished himself as a naval officer, serving as trial, legislative and policy counsel, and later as a staff judge advocate at naval bases and air stations in the US and overseas as a decorated member of the Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps.

Marino earned his B.S. in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law.

“MSK is well-known as the go-to firm for entertainment companies, particularly in labor and employment matters, and I know why, having been a firm client,” said Marino. “I bring a unique perspective, having been both in house and outside counsel, and I’m excited to bring my experience to MSK’s roster of incredible clients.”
