February 21, 2018

LOS ANGELES – Feb. 21, 2018 – Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP (MSK) has named Marc A. Jones as Chairman of the firm’s Corporate & Business Transactions Department. Since joining the firm in 2015, as a result of the merger with Richardson Patel LLP (RP), Jones has been very involved in firm management, including by serving on the firm’s Ethics Committee and the Hiring Committee.

“Marc is highly regarded in this market for his technical expertise, vast experience and his ability to counsel clients through a wide range of complex corporate transactions. The respect he has earned among our Governing Board members and other partners for his judgement and leadership make him a natural choice to chair the Corporate Department,” said Nimish Patel, Vice Chairman of the firm. “We are very excited to have Marc as our new Corporate Chairman and we look forward to this practice flourishing under his leadership.”

Jones has over 20 years of experience in private equity and strategic acquisitions, minority investments, venture capital, growth equity financings and joint ventures transactions. He routinely represents private equity firms, buyers, sellers, issuers and entrepreneurs in private transactions. In addition, he has extensive experience representing senior executives and employers in negotiating executive employment arrangements, severance packages, and equity and non-equity management incentive plans.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as Chairman of the Corporate Department. Since its inception in 1908, MSK has become well known for excellence, creativity and innovation in its core practice areas. I look forward to bringing the same collaborative and client-focused approach to our corporate practice as we develop and expand our platform across our offices in Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C.,” Jones said.

Prior to joining MSK, Jones was a partner at Goodwin Procter and McDermott, Will and Emery. He graduated from the UCLA School of Law in 1995 and received his MBA from The UCLA Anderson School of Management the same year. He earned a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of California, Davis.
