California Legislation Clarifies Employers’ Duties Under State’s Consumer Credit Laws Regarding Employment Reference Background Checks

This new legislation amended the California Credit Reporting Act, Calif. Civil Code §§ 1785.1, et seq., and the Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act, Calif. Civil Code §§ 1786, et seq.
