MSK partner Eleanor Lackman was quoted in the Law360 article, “The Legal Advocacy Behind Fan Fiction's Biggest Site,” which explores the work of the Organization for Transformative Works and its operation of Archive of Our Own (AO3), one of the internet’s largest fan fiction platforms, and the legal issues surrounding the protection of fan-created works.

"Copyright law gives a lot of very broad rights to make use of the original expression that someone created," Eleanor M. Lackman, a Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP partner, told Law360, adding that "in general, fan fiction is more likely to be seen as problematic if it's highly similar to the original, and it's commercial."
