The article discusses the recent ruling by a New York federal judge that virtual currencies can be regulated by the U.S Commodity Futures Trading Commission. With the court deeming that the CFTC has jurisdiction over bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies much like it oversees gold and oil, how will this play in effect on this quickly emerging sector?
