Eric Schwartz was mentioned numerous times in the article, "A Decentralized Model: The United States of America | Politics and the Road to Preserving a National Film Heritage," authored by Susan Oxtoby and published in the April 2017 issue of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF)'s Journal of Film Preservation

The article focuses on the National Film Preservation Board (NFPB) and provides "an overview of how the advisory body first came into being, noting some of its major achievements over the course of nearly thirty years, and reflecting on what makes this model of advocacy for film preservation uniquely American."
