Yakub Hazzard Named to the Los Angeles Business Journal's 2025 LA500 List
MSK Chair Yakub Hazzard was named to the Los Angeles Business Journal's 2025 LA500 List, published on June 2, 2025.
Now in its tenth year, the annual LA500 list features the 500 most powerful, influential, and impactful executives in Los Angeles.

"Hazzard this year took the reins at Century City-based Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, which since its formation has specialized in handling the production studios that make up Hollywood – as in the wider film and television industry, not just the Los Angeles neighborhood. Longtime clients of Hazzard’s include the Ray Charles Foundation, NBC Universal and Sony Music. Last year, he successfully defended a major studio and associated TV producers with an anti-SLAPP motion against the complaints, which was upheld on appeal. Hazzard also filed and resolved a copyright suit for several record labels against the producers of “Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody” for the film’s use of more than 20 of Whitney Houston’s songs without licensing."
