Commodity Jurisdiction, Classification and License Determination

Hyatt Regency Schaumburg
August 3, 2015
8:15 a.m.

Su Ross will be speaking at the NCBFAA Educational Institute’s First Annual Global Trade Educational Conference (G·TEC) on “Commodity Jurisdiction, Classification and License Determination.”

The first step in determining licensing requirements is to determine which U.S. Government Agency has jurisdiction over the product. This presentation will discuss how Export Control Reform has affected this decision, government tools available to assist in the process, and how items are classified under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The two-day conference will give customs brokers, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, OTI, service providers, importers, exporters and all global logistics professionals an opportunity to update themselves on industry developments and connect with colleagues new and old.
