Legal Expertise

Sara Kim represents employers on a broad spectrum of labor and employment matters, including defending against claims involving single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour violations, as well as representative actions under the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). She has experience litigating claims in state and federal courts, defending employers in mediation and arbitration, and managing charges before administrative agencies.

In addition to her litigation practice, Sara counsels employers on employee handbooks and policies, wage and hour compliance, worker classification, accommodations and leaves of absence, pay equity, and onboarding and terminations. She regularly advises on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and provides training to management and human resources professionals on performance management, harassment prevention, and compliance best practices. Sara also conducts sensitive internal workplace investigations involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other misconduct.

Her practice further encompasses labor relations, including advising on union issues, representing employers in collective bargaining negotiations, and defending claims before the National Labor Relations Board.

She also has experience counseling on employment-related issues in mergers and acquisitions, including risk assessment and negotiation of key terms.

  • Defended a cloud computing and data company in a whistleblower retaliation matter before the US Department of Labor.*
