March 26, 2024

Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has appointed Iveliz Crespo as its first Director of DEI and Talent Development, reaffirming its dedication to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the legal profession.

“We are thrilled to welcome Iveliz to Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp as our first Director of DEI and Talent Development,” said Greg Hessinger, Chair of MSK. “With an extensive background and dedication to advancing DEI, I am confident that Iveliz will play a pivotal role in driving positive change within our firm and beyond.”

Crespo brings over a decade of experience as a global DEI partner, having served as both an attorney focused on civil rights and as a DEI-focused consultant. Before joining MSK, Crespo founded a boutique consultancy specializing in providing customized DEI strategies to Fortune 500 companies, law firms, nonprofits, and educational institutions. Crespo also previously served as Reed Smith LLP’s Senior Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Advisor, having helped with the launch of DEI client partnership programs.

“Iveliz’s appointment reflects our firm’s unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion,” said Greg Olaniran, Co-Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee at MSK. “With extensive experience and proven leadership in the field, Iveliz is the ideal leader to drive our firm’s DEI initiatives forward.”

In this pivotal role, Crespo will lead MSK’s efforts to continue cultivating a more inclusive and diverse workplace environment. Crespo will oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive DEI strategies, aimed at attracting, retaining, and advancing diverse talent within MSK. Crespo will work closely with firm leadership and the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee to drive meaningful change and ensure diversity remains at the forefront of talent development and the organization.

“Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp has already displayed an impressive commitment to DEI both within the firm and to its clients,” said Crespo. “Creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered is not just a professional goal for me—it’s a personal mission. I look forward to collaborating with MSK’s leadership, lawyers, and staff to further enhance DEI across the firm.”

Crespo received a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and a B.A. from Georgian Court University. Crespo additionally holds a Diversity & Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University.
