MSK Succeeds in Compelling Police to Respond to Alarms

Representing the Inland Empire Alarm Association (IEAA), Arthur Fine challenged the City of Fontana and its Police Dept. which had implemented a policy in October 2007 requiring alarm companies to verify the legitimacy of an activated alarm before dispatching police. The San Bernardino Superior Court agreed with MSK that the 1968 City of Fontana Burglar Alarm Ordinance compels police to respond to all activated alarms, prohibiting the Police Dept. from further implementing its verification policy.
