US Domain Names Available
Only residents and citizens of the United States, corporations incorporated in the United States, and other entities and organizations having a presence in the United States are eligible to register .US domain names.
To accommodate the interests of trademark owners, a special pre-registration period (Sunrise Period) has been implemented for parties who either own registered trademarks or have filed trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on or before July 27, 2001. This Sunrise Period ends on April 9, 2002. Trademark owners are urged to take advantage of the Sunrise Period by pre-registering .US domain names comprised of their important trademarks to prevent potential cybersquatting and other forms of domain name speculation that may occur once the registration process is available to the public on April 24, 2002.
