Legal Expertise
Franklin is a first generation Salvadoran-American from Koreatown, Los Angeles. Having grown up in a diverse community, Franklin was moved to explore the intersectionality of cultural identities in the entertainment and media spaces. As a result, his practice is centered on helping clients obtain the necessary protections to freely explore their creative endeavors. By focusing his practice on transactional entertainment law and intellectual property issues, he expects to bridge the gap in pop culture between mainstream American and non-English speaking media. Franklin also has experience in:
- drafting, reviewing, and revising various music industry contracts, including recording agreements, publishing agreements, licensing deals, and artist management contracts
- drafting and negotiating various above and below the line agreements for various multi-media projects (e.g. film, television, and podcasts)
- legal research on copyright and trademark issues related to licensing and branding by music groups
