Legal Expertise

Represents management in a variety of labor and employment matters, including sexual harassment and other forms of employment discrimination, wage and hour, public policy violations, wrongful termination, and retaliation. Represents employers in state and federal court and before state and federal administrative agencies (e.g., DOL and California DFEH).  Conducts training and provides counseling and advice to employers regarding compliance with state and federal law, personnel policies and manuals, employment agreements and other personnel decisions.

Representative Matters

• Second-chaired trial involving breach of contract claims by former employee. Obtained judgment in client's favor.
• Currently represents most of the major motion picture studios and others in a series of wage and hour class actions involving more than 25,000 workers.
• Second-chaired arbitration involving claims of negligent supervision and hiring to verdict in client's favor.
• Member of trial team in five-week trial involving claims of violations of RICO and trade secret misappropriation to $80 million verdict in client's favor.
• Member of trial team achieving defense verdict in age discrimination, whistleblower and retaliation case.
• Prepared winning summary judgments in sex discrimination, race discrimination and wrongful discharge case.
• Successfully argued wage and hour cases before the California Labor Commissioner.
• Obtained terminating sanctions in several cases.
