Representative Matters

  • Defense of Fortune 500 technology corporation in action in U.S. District Court for Northern District of California involving claims of trade secret misappropriation.  Briefed winning Daubert motion to exclude several hundred-million-dollar opinion of plaintiffs' damages expert.
  • Representation of medical technology company in suit brought against former supplier for misappropriation of trade secrets in U.S. District Court for Central District of California.  Took deposition of key third-party witness and litigated through trial.
  • Defense of multinational technology corporation in suit brought by competitor in U.S. District Court in Delaware claiming monopolization through pricing and sales practices.  Also part of team that defended corporation in action brought by Federal Trade Commission involving allegations of anticompetitive acts and practices related to product design, industry benchmarking, and private standard-setting.  Defended multiple depositions within short discovery period; the case ended thereafter in a favorable consent order.
  • Defense of several labor class-action lawsuits on behalf of chain of retail stores, including appeal before U.S. Court of Appeals for Ninth Circuit implicating standards governing class certification.
  • Represent leading video game publishers in anti-piracy, copyright and trademark litigation.
  • Representation of pro bono clients seeking asylum and protection under the Violence Against Women Act, working with Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and Public Counsel of Los Angeles.
