The article discusses how a group of organizations and companies filed an amicus brief on the side of Viacom in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The amici argued that it was important for the court to decide how broad an immunity providers of online services enjoy from copyright claims over infringement committed by their users under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
