Representative Matters

• Represented a national trade association in defense of federal antitrust and copyright infringement claim. Obtained jury verdict for client.
• Represented shareholders in a federal securities action arising out of hostile takeover. Obtained injunction against tender offer.
• Represented a large U.S. pharmaceutical company against a mega international pharmaceutical company in case alleging breach of contract, fraud, antitrust claims and others. Obtained summary judgment for client on liability resulting in multi-million dollar settlement.
• Represented the estate of a famous entrepreneur against the estate of his former wife in a claim for over $400 million in community property. Judgment for client after multi-week trial.
• Represented Fred Goldman in the wrongful death action against O.J. Simpson. After four month jury trial, obtained verdict of $33.5 million against Simpson.
• Represented a real estate developer in an action for fraud and breach of contract arising out of a joint venture agreement relating to numerous multi-million dollar properties. Obtained judgment for client after lengthy trial.
• Represented a large, publicly traded oil and gas company in several federal securities class actions. All cases settled favorably.
• Represented a large, publicly traded oil and gas company in numerous insurance coverage litigations involving "political risk," business interruption, and other coverages. All cases settled favorably.
• Lead counsel for defendant insurer in multi-district litigation arising out of alleged subprime lending fraud. Case settled favorably.
• Represented a not-for-profit public theater group in an action against the State of California and the County of Los Angeles concerning exemptions from property taxes. Obtained judgment for client after trial.
