Legal Expertise

Kirsten Bass represents employers and executives in all aspects of traditional labor matters and employment matters, including litigation, arbitration, and advise & counsel. Kirsten’s litigation experience includes wage & hour and misclassification class actions, trade secrets litigation, single-plaintiff harassment and discrimination cases, and defending employers against administrative agency charges before the NLRB and EEOC. Her litigation experience includes all stages of trial, including preparing responsive pleadings and removals, writing and responding to discovery, drafting dispositive motions, preparing witnesses for testimony, and preparing post-hearing briefs. In addition, Kirsten assists clients in negotiating collective bargaining agreements and conducting internal investigations into harassment, discrimination, and whistleblowing allegations. Kirsten regularly drafts workplace policies and procedures to aid with internal investigations and audits, and to ensure clients’ compliance with the myriad of overlapping wage and hour and paid sick leave laws in California.

  • Drafts pleadings, substantive motions, discovery requests & responses, settlement documents and legal memoranda
  • Advises clients on union concerns, termination decisions and internal harassment and discrimination investigations
  • Drafts outlines for witness testimony in administrative hearings, arbitrations and depositions
  • Assists with negotiations for collective bargaining agreements
  • Advises clients on executive employment agreements, arbitration agreements, restrictive covenants, and trade secret protection
  • Prepares case strategies, exhibits, and draft post-hearing briefs for SAG, WGA, and DGA arbitrations
  • Drafts position statements in response to EEOC discrimination and NLRB unfair labor practice charges
